Terry (Terrance) Donald New
January 1, 1947 –July 7, 2010
Terry was noted for his gregariousness, good humor and quick wit. Life was never dull when Terry was around. He enjoyed playing Old timer’s hockey, golfing at the Elmwood Golf and Country Club and was an avid pool player. His love of card games especially Bridge and poker led to his latest endeavor dealing at Living Sky Casino which he called his “retirement hobby”. Terry was born in Winnipeg but grew up in Swift Current where he began his 36 year career with Sask Power at the age of 18. He and Gail also lived in Nipawin, Saskatoon (twice), Regina, and returned to Swift Current for the second time when he retired in 2002. He used his experience in several part time positions and volunteer work in the community. Encouraged by his golf buddies he and Gail began spending winters in Brownsville, Texas extending the golf season and greatly enlarging his circle of card playing friends. Terry is survived by his wife Gail, his son Travis (Jen) and his granddaughters Lara and Josie; his mother Eveline in Calgary and his brother Art (Joanna)in Calgary their children Marcus (Yvonne), children Ethan and Amanda, and Jason (Liz) and his brother Ron (Dee) of Saskatoon and their children Brett (Brandon) and Amber; Gail’s mother Letty Beasley and brother Bill (Jeanette) of the Maple Creek/ Piapot area and their children Lori (Terry) children Kelan and Jory; Bruce (Deb) and their son Eric; Barb. Terry was predeceased by his father Foster New and son Troy Foster New.
