APRIL 7, 1918 – DECEMBER 22, 2009

 

On December 22, 2009 Lee R. Eby of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years.  It is with great sadness that his family announces the loss of Lee.  Our loss is heaven’s gain.  His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 18 years, Yvonne Wood-Eby; three children, Maxine (Boyd), Charlene, Linda (Jerry); 12 grandchildren, Kim (Glenn), Todd (Jodi), Mark, Anders, Loren, Lars, Tasha, Jesse (deceased), Julia, Matthew, Benjamin and Madeline. Three great-grandchildren; Spencer, Aubrey, Jack as well as numerous relatives, dear friends and his only surviving sister Gladys (Fred) of Kelowna, B.C.  Lee was predeceased by his first wife Bert (married 52 years), brother Bill; sister Edna and grandson Jesse.  Lee farmed for several years in the community of Morse and was an active participant in the church, Ernfold 4-H Club, helped run a club for children to learn wood working and served as a veterinarian for many cattle in the area.  When Lee and Bert sold the farm and moved to Swift Current in 1976 he worked at Home Hardware and was active in the church.  When Lee retired from Home Hardware, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Homecare, driving people to doctor’s appointments, ect…  Lee and Yvonne were married August 23, 1991 and had the trip of a lifetime to India to visit Mother Theresa’s School.  They also had a cruise to Alaska.  The family wish to extend a special thank you to the staff at CypressRegionalHospital and Herbert Nursing Home for their care, kindness and support during this difficult time.  Donations may be made to FamilyCommunityChurch – Mission of Mercy (Canada) 4104 97St. Edmonton, ABT6E 5Y6 or to the Saskatchewan Diabetes Association.  A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the FamilyCommunityChurch with Pastor Ron Peifer officiating.  The organist was Sharon Penny and the pianist was Roxanne Funk.  Pallbearers were:  Mark Fitzsimons, Anders Bredahl, Loren Bredahl, Lars Bredahl, Tasha Novick and Rob Smith.  The interment took place at Mount PleasantBurialPark, Swift Current, SK.  For further information or to sign the family book of condolence, visit www.parksidefuneralhome.com.  Arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home.
