WATT Mr. Adam Alexander, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2009 at the Palliser Regional Care Centre in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Adam was born in Pennant on July 25, 1921, the youngest child of William and Rachel (Nevins) Watt. He grew up on the family farm and took his schooling at Vergland school, nine and a half miles south west of Pennant, after which he worked at home and on various farms in the area. In the Second World War Adam served in the army in Canada, Great Britain and the Continent. He was overseas in Germany when the war ended in 1945. On his return home he took up farming with his Father and later with his brother, Bill. Adam enjoyed a variety of sports, especially baseball, golf and curling. Together with his brother they attended ball tournaments in all three Prairie Provinces and went to many curling events, such as the Men’s Brier and Ladies tournament of Hearts. Many people remember Adam and Bill as being good neighbors, always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Adam was predeceased by his parents, William and Rachel Watt; sister, Ethel Libby, brother-in-law, Leonard Libby; and brother, William. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his nephew, Stan (Susan) Libby and their son, Bryce (Lisa) Libby, all of Saskatoon; as well as numerous close friends. The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at PennantCommunityChurch with Reverend Maxine Pirie officiating. The organist was Thelma Wallace and the ushers were Hugh Lynnes and Gary Horvey. The interment will be held at a later date at PennantCemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliser Regional Care Centre Auxiliary, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
