Clarence Peter Wall (November  3, 1920 – May 10, 2009)

It is with great sadness that the family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Clarence at the Swift Current Regional Hospital.  He was predeceased by 1 brother, Ernie Wall and 3 sisters, Esther (Jack) Dyck, Hilda (Ivan) Shelstad,  and Margaret (Percy) Knutson.  He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Margaret;  sister –in- law, Ina Wall, Aldergrove;  nephew, Terry (Phyllis) Dyck, Vernon; Lynn (Ray) Perron, Lethbridge;  Ken (Deb) Wall, Sorrento;  Lorne (Jane) Knutson, Victoria; Maureen Shelstad, Swift Current and Harley (Joan) Knutson, Prince Rupert and many great nieces and nephews.  Clarence was definitely a man of the land and enjoyed many years of farming by the 17 Mile Bridge with his wife at his side.  Clarence was a bachelor for many years and enjoyed doing fretwork with hand tools in those lonely years.  He met and married Margaret Butcher on May 30, 1953 at the United Church in Swift Current.  There were many fun events with family and friends at the 17 Mile Bridge and at the Swift Current landing.  He had a great love of pool, curling, fishing and golfing.  It was very hard for him to give up his golfing in 2007 when his health started to fail.  His good friend, John Wall, would golf with him and act as his eyes as Clarence was legally blind for many years due to macular degeneration.    Clarence’s loss of sight did not slow him down.  Even though he missed the curling and pool games he was able to find lots to do with his time. He was always tinkering in the garage and doing yard work.  Clarence & Margaret have been very generous to many relatives, friends, and charities.  Clarence will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his friends and his community as a whole.  The funeral service was at the First United Church Thursday, May 14 at 2 pm.  A family burial was held at Memorial Gardens Thursday, May 14 at 11 a.m.  Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.  For further information or to sign the family book of condolence please visit our website at parksidefuneralhome.com.
