FRIESEN – Anne M. age 80 years of Swift Current, SK passed away on Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Herbert Integrated Health Facility. She is survived by her sister Esther and brother-in-law Isaac J. Friesen of Kelowna, BC; three nephews; Marvin Friesen of Vancouver, BC, Terry Friesen of Winfield, BC and Brian Friesen of Kelowna, BC and step-daughter Sylvia Friesen of Swift Current, SK. She was predeceased by her husband Isaac P. Friesen on March 13, 1992; mother Agnes Penner on November 15, 1977 and father Abram Penner on February 4, 1994. Anne was born to Abram and Agnes Penner on November 24, 1928 in Swift Current, SK. She received her early education at Maharg School. After working in the cafeteria in the Swift Current Hospital for several years she upgraded her education and became a secretary, working for Great West Motors until she retired. On February 3, 1973 she was united in marriage to Isaac P. Friesen. They enjoyed traveling and made a trip to Mexico and various places. Her long time dream was a trip to Hawaii. This dream was fulfilled in the winter of 1996 with a two week vacation in Hawaii with her friend Lyla. Anne enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and visiting with her friends and relatives. On October 1, 2008 she was admitted to the Cypress Regional Hospital. She was transferred to the Herbert Integrated Facility on October 28, 2008. She was a loving sister and aunt and especially enjoyed her three nephews; Marvin, Terry and Brian. Anne will be missed by her family and friends. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2:00 pm. at Zion Mennonite Church with Pastor Ray Friesen officiating. The organist was Grace Funk. The pallbearers were: Marvin Friesen, Brian Friesen, Peter Dyck, Terry Dyck, Peter Wiens and Peter Wiebe. The interment took places at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK.
