WIEBE, Eva(nee Giesbrecht), age 61 years passed away on the morning of December 5, 2008, at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK. Eva was the fourth of nine children born to Abram and Helen Giesbrecht. Eva was predeceased by her husband Cornie in 2000; daughter Wilma in 1972; father Abram Giesbrecht in 2002, and sister Mary Wellsch in 1994. She is survived by her three children: Gerald, Kevin (Lana), Pauline (Stephan) Saemann; two loving grandchildren Stephanie and Erica; mother Helen Giesbrecht; sisters: Sarah Brown, Judy (Jerry) Wohlgemuth; brothers: John Giesbrecht, Henry (Penny) Giesbrecht, Bill (Shannon) Giesbrecht, George (Glenda) Giesbrecht, and Ben Giesbrecht. Eva was born on February 8, 1947 in Altona, MB. When she was two years old her family moved to Saskatchewan and lived in the Schoenfeld district. At age 17 Eva married Cornie Wiebe on September 12, 1964 in Wymark, SK. Eva started babysitting when their children were older. She also worked for several restaurants as a kitchen aid. Eva retired from her job due to health reasons. She spent her spare time reading, drawing, and sewing numerous outfits for her dolls. Eva enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. The funeral service was held on December 9, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in Schoenfeld at the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with Reverand David Wiebe officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin Wiebe, Edward Wiebe, Steven Wellsch, Bryan Wiebe, Trent Giesbrecht, and Stephan Saemann. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
