KOELLER, Arnold J. (born June 20, 1914 – Sept. 3, 2007) Arnold passed away at the age of 93. He enjoyed an active agenda in southwest Saskatchewan during his extended life; he was only handicapped by his poor eyesight in recent years. He is predeceased by his parents, Herman and Henrietta (Kuntz) Koeller and by his spouse, Winnifred (McGovern) Koeller. Arnold was born in Courval, SK. He was raised in Admiral where his family operated Koeller’s Auto Livery and Garage. He was an expert welder and mechanic in his first career; the Credit Union Manager and Postmaster in Admiral for his second career. He served Canada during the Second World War. Loyalty to his family, community, and country was a very strong statement in Arnold’s life. He is survived by two older sisters, Gertrude Creed (100 years old of Regina, SK), and Everesta Malone (98 years old of Moose Jaw, SK); children, Gerald (& wife Joan) (Perth, Ontario), Donna (& husband Marcel) Cote (Admiral, SK), and Everett (& wife Yvette) (Blackie, AB). In addition, he has eleven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A prayer service was held 7:30 pm Friday, September 7, 2007 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Swift Current, SK. The funeral services was held at Sacred Heart Church 11:00 am Saturday, September 8, 2007 (lunch followed in the parish Hall). Internment at Scotsguard Roman Catholic Cemetery at 2:30pm Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Charitable Foundation of the Family, Arnold J. Koeller Memorial Scholarship, 130, 4029 8th St. SE, Calgary, AB T2G 3A5 (Revenue Canada Charitable Registration # 887346682 RR0001). The scholarship trust will assist students or adults who hold high values and serve their country, Canada, or their communities. Arnold Koeller had 93 years as a loyal servant and patriarch of his family, providing love and encouragement as a community member who displayed values with morals to be loved and respected. He made a steady effort to improve the environment visibly and spiritually. He served his country in war and peace. His life journey was as soldier and a humble, honourable man.
